4K4AZE Khizi DX-Pedition – LN40mv (May 21, 2023)
On May 21, 2023, a successful DX-Pedition was conducted under the callsign 4K4AZE in the LN40mv grid square, covering the area of Yarımca village in the city of Khizi. This event aimed to contribute to the development of amateur radio by establishing radio communications from a location previously unused and without any active amateur radio operators.
4K0T Khizi Mountains DX-Pedition – LN40kw (29–30 March 2025)
On March 29–30, 2025, the Azerbaijan Radio Amateurs Society organized a DX-Pedition from the Khizi Mountains, operating under the callsign 4K0T in the LN40kw locator square. The expedition aimed to activate a rare location and participate in the CQ WPX SSB contest.
The team included: 4K7RF Farid Huseynov, 4K5RA Ruslan Agayev, 4K6FO Alim Mammadov, 4K6EH Elgun Hasanov, and 4K5FM Farid Mammadov. Despite challenging conditions, the team completed numerous successful QSOs, making the expedition a great success.
On September 28, 2024, organized by the "Azerbaijan Radio Amateurs Society" Public Union and Azercosmos, students of Dunya School – Khazar University established direct radio contact with astronaut Sunita Williams (KD5PLB) aboard the International Space Station (OR4ISS), asking her their questions. We express our sincere gratitude to Rovshan Guliyev (4K6RKS), Ruslan Agayev (4K5RA), Farid Huseynov (4K7RF), Elgun Hasanov (4K6EH), Nadir Atayev, and Khadija Seyidamirova for their valuable support in making this historic communication possible.
